No it was just a report on the box. It's clear that some aspects of the grid could be modified if needed and the power was available. Very wide spread changes are another matter though.

Your USA test on range - no interest. I'd want to see them on UK driving conditions using typical flow rates on our motorways. That would mean doing several. Constant 70 all the time - rather unlikely.

Its a ridiculous idea.
If significant numbers of users all decide to start using their electricity at 7 pm when they are allowed it would cause problems with the surge in demand.
There are already well established strategies for dealing with such; you don't notice your lights dim when the Corrie adverts come on and 4 million people decide it's a good time for a cuppa

To a large extent, it's balanced out by the other 60 odd million not watching Corrie and not turning the kettle on :-)
