I have just taken on a half done off-peak mains job whereby the previous electrician, who completed both normal and off-peak boards and the earth, found that the off-peak board was not coming on at night.
Now there is a Horstmann Radio teleswitch fitted, which links into the norweb elec meter (dual meter) where there are two readings shown. The top one is off-peak and the below one is normal peak.
We also have a 80A contactor. Although there is no frost stat anywhere i can only assume that there must have been one before, which must switch the contactor relay during cold days when the off-peak supply is off.
The teleswitch has 7 connection available;
1-supply
2-RXL
3-RXN
4-2A tariff
5-plug
6-plug
7-80A Load.
On the meter/clock there are the two 25mm tails going in (L-N) and the two out(L-N) plus a 10mm neutral doubed up with the in coming neutral. There is a live 10mm cable in term 7 which is located between the L-N on the out going side of the meter/clock.
1)Can we confirm where these two wires go on the teleswitch??
2) Can we confirm what RXL, RXN and the 2A Tariff connections do and how they connect up??
3) i believe the supply (term 1) is connected to the mains live coming in before the meter and the 80A load (term 7) must feed the off-peak board via the contactor.Please confirm????
I'm aware that the teleswitch is activated by a radio freq. sent outby radio 4.
Which connection on the teleswitch picks this up and where does it connect on the clock/meter. Is it a switch neutral and if so which connection is it?
Can you HELP???
