In the UK, donated blood isn't tested for Covid. What a patient gets is from a large number of donors. They do test for some viruses like HIV and Hepatitis, Zika, but not covid.

Note the words "very rare". Nothing in this world is completely risk free, but the risk of a blood clot from a vaccination is still miniscule in comparison to the risk of death as the result of contracting Covid. As 160,000 or so deaths in the UK seem to attest. It's all a case of percentages

I got a sore arm from the flu jab last year, but not this year. Why was that? Last time I had an anti-tettanus I had a sore leg for a few days. Why was that? Yes, it is the injection which causes it, but the benefits of being vaccinated outweigh the disadvantages of having a little prick
