Hi there,

I have a Vaillant EcoTec plus 832 boiler and a Hive system in the property. The Hive unit does seem to work and connect fine with the Hive Hub, the app, the receiver and the thermostat. When I turn the heating on via the Hive, the boiler clicks and the green light on the Hive receiver flashes near the heating symbol, then turns a solid green when the heating is supposedly on. However the heating doesn't actually fire up.
The only way to turn on the heating is to do it manually from the panel on the boiler, which is when it actually heats. When you turn the heating on manually like this, you have to set the temperature higher than 30 degrees in order for the heaters to actually turn on as below this it just shows 'Heating Off'. I've noticed that on the Hive the maximum temp you can set it 30 degrees only. Maybe this is why its not firing up?

Is there some setting I'd need to change on the boiler or Hive to make this work?

If anyone can offer and help and advice on what to check I'd really appreciate it :)

The boiler heating thermostat needs leaving on around 65 degrees the hive does not override this setting

Thanks for your reply. Yes it needs setting at this to fire up.

So does that mean the Hive is not compatible with it or is there something that needs to be done?

Is this a new install, has it worked previously? Can you provide photos of the wiring of the Hive.

It looks new but not something I've commissioned. I'll get some photos of the wiring tonight.

I think it's something to do with the boiler needs to be set to 65 degrees and the Hive only allows 32 degrees. It seems like its talking to it otherwise.

Hi. As requested please see wiring for the Hive receiver.

What panel are you referring to at the boiler to turn on? Also was there a previous thermostat?
