BBC News

And climate deniers are the new cult, it's all about money and tax, not the actual issues or facts. Does it makes you feel special that you and some rando’s on twitter have “figured out a conspiracy” from your couch when researchers with significantly more experience, equipment, and resources from all around the world, including countries that hate each other, all agree on it?

Do you think China is switching to low carbon energy and banning combustion cars because the USA asked nicely?

Ever consider that these "taxes" you keep going on about are mainly aimed at large corporations and has minimal effect on the average person? Exxon have been lobbying against climate change since the 70s to protect their profit and have been sued and fined repeatedly for spreading misinformation but that doesn't stop the denier cult from lapping it up. Deniers are lobbying for corporations free of charge and they think the rest of the world are the ones "falling for it". That's misdirection Harry Houdini would be proud of.

Which one are you? Beaker or Fozzy Bear?

No idea what that means and I'm going to assume it's not worth my time finding out. I guess applying irrelevant childish labels to stuff you don't like is more important than education or evidence based reasoning.

Some people are just content repeating what they hear and being corporate shills. Ignorance is bliss after all.

With a subnormal teenager like Thunberg leading your cause, I don't think you can lecture on ignorance or blind stupidity.
I don't particularly like Thunberg either, more of a media attraction than anything but one side is promoting a cause that has no personal benefit to oneself, the other side is repeating a Corporate narrative that enables a few corporations to continue making billions. Even without the obvious evidence, it's kinda clear which side has the incentive to spread misinformation.

But hey, maybe my morals are different to yours. And lecturing on ignorance and blind stupidity? Take a look at yourself first... you've provided no evidence other than name calling and being childish.

Debating with an anonymous, blinkered, holier than thou, humourless climate emergency disciple is completely futile and more than a tad tedious. Follow want you want, mate. Personally, I've never been a follower.

I'll make my decisions on the facts I research on a daily basis as part of my job, a tiny bit of which I've posted on here. That's significantly more than can be said for what you've posted. You can follow what the corporations tell you and continue do their dirty work for them.

The hypocrisy and irony of your post says it all, ignorance is bliss. Nothing more than a troll with no facts to bring to the table and you have the gall to say others are blinkered. Again, take a look at yourself.

You've got to wonder what would convince people who don't already believe that there is a major man-made change to the climate going on.

I don't think they'd believe it even if their house was on fire, they'd stay inside and say it's fake news. The hectares of UK affected by wildfires has increased over 2300% in the last 6 years (https://www.statista.com/statistics/1322219/area-burned-by-wildfire-in-the-uk/) but it's "completely natural".

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. Corporations got the ball rolling, ignorance sped it up

I wonder if there is a connection between support for Trump and climate change denial (anybody on here fit that?)

"As of the end of 2019, in the United States, 97 percent of the coal industry's political contributions and 88 percent of the oil and gas industries' contributions had gone to Republicans"

But, but, but . . . . . How can we be climate change deniers when we're saying the climate is changing???

Now you're arguing semantics ;)
You may not deny that the climate is changing; however, the specific phrase or 'label': "Climate Change Denial" relates to:

Climate change denial, or global warming denial, is denial, dismissal, or unwarranted doubt that contradicts the scientific consensus on climate change, including the extent to which it is caused by humans, its effects on nature and human society, or the potential of adaptation to global warming by human actions.[5][6][7] Many who deny, dismiss, or hold unwarranted doubt about the scientific consensus on anthropogenic global warming self-label as "climate change skeptics",[8][6] which several scientists have noted is an inaccurate description.[9][10][11]

I bet all those scientists that disagree it's man made climate change & we just need to stop using our motor cars are in bed with all those scientists who disagreed with lockdowns & masks & untested vaccines & . . . . .
Since there's virtually no scientists that disagree with anthropocentric climate change, who cares?

The COVID vaccines are probably the most heavily tested in history by now btw.

I personally believe there is, the republicans and the right wing have realised it's easy to manipulate ignorant people and have weaponised misinformation. You saw it with Trump, he says some outrageous nonsense, Fox news repeats it, suddenly it's all over twitter like it's fact. It was voter fraud with ballots from dead people that made him lose by over 7 million votes. Ok lunatic, back to the sunbeds and boil your head

Careful now, that's very close to a fact. Better to say the vaccine is turning people into lizards if you want to get them interested.

People seem to forget about the Polio epidemic and that 90%+ of Europe and America got vaccinated, which eradicated Polio from those continents and not people.
