Hello!

I moved into a rental property nearly 6 months ago and I want to put the heating on once in the morning, 5.30am-6.30am and again 6.30pm-7.30pm, everyday.

I’ve got a SALUS RT520 and factory reset and paired the wireless display, and also managed to programme it so the heating should be switched on for those time…yet to be seen.

Anyway, I’ve checked and every so often the flame Symbol will come on. I know it’s linked to room temperature, so when it drops below the desired room temperature, it’ll get the heating from the boiler. But I don’t want that to happen as I’m trying to be energy efficient aka on a budget as it’s my first rental property where I’m paying the bills.

Can anyone help me? I’ve attached a photo of the wireless display.

Press menu once which will bring up schedule press select twice .
Your then into your time settings you need to adjust the temperature settings in your off periods to a lower level.
To be correct this is your back set temperature.

Ahhh thank you!! I had these set as blanks!

Question- I’ve set it at 5 degrees when during the day, do you think this is too cold? I just don't want any chance of the heating coming on when I’m not in as I don’t work from home.

5 C is a bit low if it did drop that low your heating would never get up to temperature with the 1 hr slots you have programmed.
Ahh ok thank you ☺️ I’ll change it 10 degrees? Sorry if this is stupid. Growing up, I didn’t have central heating and have always rented with bills included so never really paid attention to things like this!

It randomly came on again outside the programmed timing? I don’t know what I’m doing wrong!

What do you mean sorry by “link left inside boiler?”

Should I contact the landlord?
Yes, contact landlord. Some boilers come with a wire link inside the boiler so the heating can be used without a thermostat, if this has been left in it'll fire the boiler up.
