Hi I'm about to start boarding around my fireplace. I'm using 25mm vermiculite board. The company advise to fix with adhesive (dot and dab) and also screws as I'm tiling over the board. My question with this is should I fix the screws when I apply the board or should I let the adhesive set and then get the screws through. Cheers in advance

Have just done similar with bathroom boards onto not very flat brick.
Maybe a couple at the top before the adhesive sets to act as a vertical support but not screwed fully home or you may compress the adhesive and pull the board in.
Once set, drive them fully home and add the others.

Are you using heat proof adhesive?
I have not come across this type of board before. Vitcas seems to be a popular brand.
You may get some proper instructions/advice from them

Ok thanks for the advice yes I'm using heat proof adhesive. The advice to secure once set seems to make sense cheers
