Hi all,

I am building a bathroom in the corner of my downstairs hallway. It has one outside wall, with a window in, one internal brick wall and 2 stud walls. Inside the 2 stud walls I have insulated (mostly for soundproofing purposes) with 100mm insulation board.

The question is where I have cut the board around the hot and cold pipe runs could this cause a condensation issue? Would I be better wrapping the pipes in hessian insulation or doesn't it matter?

Thanks

D

Shouldn't really be an issue but you could use the round pipe lagging if you wish.

The air in the partition void won't be the same temperature as in the room so condensation is less likely an issue.

Same as pipes in the floor/ ceiling void aren't lagged.

Rigid board insulation isn't very effective at sound reduction. Next time consider acoustic wool and sound block plasterboard
