Has anyone had a radiator powered coated before? So you can have it a specific colour.

No but I have sprayed a few. Changed both my bathroom tall myson towel rads from white - one to black and one to anthracite.
Recoated 2 white rads too.

Hung them on wires from the garage rafters. I found the trick was get them well prepped with scotch brite and then really clean then - 3 full coats of etching primer, 3 full coats of paint and then 3 coats of matt lacquer (satin on the white rads) and let each coat dry well. Couldn't be happier with the result.

Yes done it several times
Did you send it off to a factory to get done? Does it look professional like the eastbrook black ones you can get. Can't use the eastbrook ones as I need a size they don't do.

So getting one powder coated at a company that does powder coating. Should be ok?

The radiator you want powder coated would have had to have been powder coated originally if you want to powder coat over the top, or you need to strip it to bare metal before powder coating. You can’t powder coat over an oem wet paint finish.

I use a powder coating specialist local to me, they do an excellent job

Thanks it's just a normal radiator a new one thank I want powder coating black.

A 2 pack wet spray would achieve a very good finish as well

Although a one off powder coat or spray job could cost as much as a radiator

Would a finish as good as this be possible? Want a black radiator. But they don't do the size wanted in black. And can't move pipework. As no access.

Sorry but your pic doesn't really show the finish very well but as far as finish is concerned then yes - this used to be gloss white. You honestly wouldn't know it wasn't black to start with
