9. Work started on the construction of a building on the tennis court on 1 December 2021 and in January 2022 the matter was brought to the attention of the Council. The building under construction was not in accordance with the November 2021 planning permission in that it was being built closer to the Woburn Road properties and it included an additional wing.
10. In March 2022 a retrospective application was submitted by Maytrix Group Ltd to retain the building as built, amounting to approximately 208sqm. The application covering letter described the proposed use as being “for purposes incidental to the existing dwelling including private domestic use, interviews and charity functions. You will note that a spa pool pit has been incorporated in the additional wing to accommodate the prefabricated spa pool”. The accompanying revised DAHS stated the use would be for uses incidental to the enjoyment of the dwelling. This application was refused in November 2022.

HANNAH Ingram-Moore has set up a charity to help innocent victims of buying Captain Tom cash-grab books filled with mawkish life lessons.
The charity, which is funded by leftover book deal money that did not go towards a pool and a spa, will offer support to anyone who believed in the magic of a money-raising World War II veteran for a small monthly fee.
Captain Tom’s daughter said: “I understand that you’re hurting. You thought an adorable old man staggering around his garden was immune to scandal. Let me, the root cause of this bullshit, make you feel better.
“With our basic package, my charity will email you encouraging messages lazily copy and pasted from ‘his’ book Tomorrow Will Be A Good Day. But if you really want to recover from my misleading use of funds, it’s going to cost you.
"For just £20 a month I’ll personally send you a generic pre-recorded apology, and I’ll even chuck in a photo of Captain Tom looking happy in Barbados. No, no, I insist, you helped pay for that holiday so it’s only fair.”
She added: “Millions of you lapped up, I mean were deeply affected by, his books, so I expect I’ll have my work cut out. Donate now so I can selflessly make sure everyone gets the help they need.”
The £39m Sir Tom raised for the NHS is safe, they pocketed about £1.5m from a book deal and £10k from an appearance fee. I expect they've pocketed more in expenses.
I don't have a problem with them making some money off the back of the family's efforts if they make clear what goes where, but apparently the press publicity and even the foreword to the book said all money raised would be going to the foundation. Unless they argue all money means donations direct to Captains Toms charity, people were seriously misled, and IMO it should be subject of police investigations.
