Live TV without aerial?

i live within 2-3 miles off reigate hill transmitter and found these work fine when placed in a window with at least 45degree view off the transmitter i get 90%odd quality and mid 70s strength
now not for one second suggesting they will be any good in your situation as the 45% and distance is my situation so cannot vouch for other angles or distances but at a fiver worth a punt

i have 3 tvs in the house and workshop all with there own one

i did try adding a booster i had to one tv and it did improve the signal strength but with less than about 1-2% noticeable picture drop without it in decided its pointless

That close you could get a good signal from a wire coat hanger .

A random short bit of wire, would be all you need at such a short range from the transmitter.

i did have a bit off wire working

its actually the freeveiw recorder box that gets the signal and they are under a shelf so a fiver is well worth it
as the tv is never watched on its own its only connected to the freeview box

They are probably not something to recommend - they might not be expensive from eBay, but similar products are sold with a huge markup, as part of an online scam - this may give you an idea of the products quality...

i put maximum information in the post but suggested £5 was worth a try
if you are stuck in a flat or house with no tv as you main security veiwing wise as your only real normal veiwing choice its a no brainer we need to remember internet is not a word many people my age [70]use or want although i fully embrace internet but never ever any streaming options hence terestial tv

Quite, but the thing is - they are massively oversold, for what they are able to actually do. They are not an effective replacement for Cable, or even a proper antenna. They only work, where there is a very strong local signal from a transmitter, when a simple bit of wire pushed in, or a coat hanger, would work anyway. Rather than all the free channels they suggest you get, you will on receive what your local transmitter transmits - the usual Freeview channels.

i must admit i forgot about all the impossible claims as i know you can only get normal aerial services i just discard them as irrelevant but as you say worth pointing out to save disappointment
