Think of the money that could be saved in government, BBC, local authorities etc. I bet all those in non-jobs are weeping into their handkerchiefs at the thought of them having to do a real days work in the future.

Agreed.

Actually, there are a lot of non jobs across government, councils, education, health etc in general.

I have 20 years experience approving widgets for production. I used to manage the end to end process myself and complete it within five working days. Now, the approval of widgets for production has to go through three different groups and the process takes five weeks.

please could you provide the evidence of these "non jobs"

your wifes anecdotal evidence is not sufficient

4, yes four, managers above her.
how do you know they are non jobs?

dont tell me, youve decided "in your mind"

Mrs Mottie who works for the NHS has 4, yes four, managers above her.

I suppose that would be the Secretary of State for Health, then the CEO of the NHS. Then two others, I guess, in between.

Yeah, sack all the hospital shineys. Get the Docs to type up their own notes and referrals. Loadsa dosh saved right there. No ****er's getting treated, but hey, loadsa savings. Make em roster the cleaners too- they are after all the ones dirtying the place. Sack the porters and have the nurses push the patients around- maybe treat them on the move?

Some NHS trusts

Our NHS trust has a DIE department. I want that money to go to paying nurses better, not the funding of bureacratic nonsense.
how do you know its bureaucratic nonsense?

in case you hadnt noticed the NHS employs a lot of foreign staff

maybe you shouldnt believe the tropes in the Daily Mail

I am sorry you are narrow minded, how sad for you

"Research has consistently shown that a diverse workforce operating within an inclusive environment not only enhances staff experience but also reduces turnover rates. Moreover, it fosters the development of more innovative and productive teams"

the attacks on public service workers is a predictable angle used by populists

When people refer to these organisations being bloated and overly bureaucratic, they're not referring to roles such as (in the case of the NHS) medical secretaries, cleaners, porters etc ;)

I don't think you need a DIE department to employ foreign staff. I don't think it is the job of the NHS to socially engineer its workforce. I read and listen to many different sources and politically opposed persuasions. You've just got it in for me because I am centre left and don't agree with much of what you say.

I don't think anyone is suggesting getting rid of those, rather getting rid of some of the bureaucracy staff, on ridiculously high salaries, doing little or nothing productive.

What about DEI on the patient side of things e.g. dealing with inequality of access and outcomes?
