I wouldn’t fancy your chances without a decent lawyer. It’s a very different system.
Fancy my chances? You would need to be soft in the head (or a Trump fan), to launch an attack on an occupied US House of Congress, in session no less, armed with weapons and cable ties.

Protest my arse.

Felony obstruction of official proceedings. SOX act.

Thanks, that was very interesting. Also, it led me to this article which gives a neat summary (their bold, not mine):

According to the justice department, more than 500 defendants have been charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers, including more than 130 who have been charged with using a deadly or dangerous weapon or causing serious bodily injury to a police officer.

Don't we have an equivalent of seditious conspiracy with serious violence?

So what sanctions do we now have access to if a similar attack happened on Parliament. Is it treason or terrorism to try to overthrow the government by force. Or would it just be crimes like rioting plus GBH and criminal damage etc. where appropriate?

Successfully overthrowing the government is not illegal. ;)

Its really better for you to research this yourself.
No

You want to say they were incorrectly locked up. You need to prove it

Trump didn't, he just pardoned them.

Law and order my backside

But keep your fan base on your side at all costs

And if it is not successful ?

I'm not saying anything of the sort. You are forming an opinion that is a travesty of law and order for them to be pardoned. I am sure that is true for some and not for many. I'm suggesting you educate yourself on the charges and sentences. I'm not going to do this for you. I don't particularly care either way. What I can see is there was an approach of throwing the book at them and then making some new books to throw.
