Dog shower too close to light switch

Will that socket be next to the light switch? :D
No its further away,if you saw my other post she’s quite indecisive this was a single socket with 2x 2.5mm twin and earth she said it doesn’t get used so I changed the face plate to a switched one and run the outside light to it.
That will now be changed back to a single socket with the fused one running off it.

That's even worse than the switch being close to the "shower".

I really don't know what to say regarding whether this counts as a shower room or not.

Well, back in the day, if you had a shower in a room that wasn't a regular bathroom (like some bed and breakfasts that have a shower cubicle in the bedroom), any sockets had to be 2.5m away. I guess it's 3m now.

The recent change (for 'locations containing a bath or shower', whether they are 'bathrooms' or not) has been from 3m to 2.5m, not the other way around.

However, the point obviously is that all of the relevant regs relate to "locations containing a bath or shower". Whilst, as written, that seems to include any room 'with a shower', the uncertainty is whether the authors actually intended it to apply to locations containing a 'dog show' (a possibility I suspect that didn't even think of :-) )

Must confess I have not frequented the chapter on livestock since decades, maybe there is something in there?

But in reality, I don't think it matters it is a dog shower. There is a human operating it.
I would be tempted to treat it as a bathroom situation I think.

I've no idea, either, not ever having had need to look at that. However, no matter what it says, I can't see how it can negate the whole of Section 701, which appears to relate to all "Locations containing a bath or shower", without reference to 'species' :-)

If it really were essentially a dog-sized equivalent of a human shower (like my neighbour has),I would be inclined to agree. However, as EFLI has more-or-less observed, in the case of the OP's situation, it looks as if all he has is an electric water heater with a hose connector as its output, and I'm not sure that necessarily qualifies as any sort of 'shower' does it? ... afterall, it doesn't really seem much differnt from, say, a tap on a basin?

One can certainly be 'tempted' in either direction, but only by making assumnotions about the 'intent'; of the regs.

I cannot see the bigger picture of the layout.

I don't know what constitutes this shower.

But, if there is a heater, a hose, a spray and a means of placing the animal and collecting the water, that's a shower, isn't it?

If not, and it is just the same as a tap on a basin, why are we debating the nearby light switch?
