Soggy doggy....

Cable is just hung up around a shelf it’s going to be clipped back and into a socket when finishedThe supply cable could do with some improvement.
Will that socket be next to the light switch?Cable is just hung up around a shelf it’s going to be clipped back and into a socket when finished

No its further away,if you saw my other post she’s quite indecisive this was a single socket with 2x 2.5mm twin and earth she said it doesn’t get used so I changed the face plate to a switched one and run the outside light to it.Will that socket be next to the light switch?![]()
What do you mean by "earth bonding ... in the area" ?Make sure the earth bonding is up to spec., in the area..
A ceiling mounted pull cord light switch would be a better option, it's only plastic conduit so should be easy enough.Swap it for an IP rated switch if it worries you
That's even worse than the switch being close to the "shower".No its further away,if you saw my other post she’s quite indecisive this was a single socket with 2x 2.5mm twin and earth she said it doesn’t get used so I changed the face plate to a switched one and run the outside light to it.
That will now be changed back to a single socket with the fused one running off it.
Same here - which is why I raised the issue!I really don't know what to say regarding whether this counts as a shower room or not.

The recent change (for 'locations containing a bath or shower', whether they are 'bathrooms' or not) has been from 3m to 2.5m, not the other way around.Well, back in the day, if you had a shower in a room that wasn't a regular bathroom (like some bed and breakfasts that have a shower cubicle in the bedroom), any sockets had to be 2.5m away. I guess it's 3m now.

I've no idea, either, not ever having had need to look at that. However, no matter what it says, I can't see how it can negate the whole of Section 701, which appears to relate to all "Locations containing a bath or shower", without reference to 'species'Must confess I have not frequented the chapter on livestock since decades, maybe there is something in there?
If it really were essentially a dog-sized equivalent of a human shower (like my neighbour has),I would be inclined to agree. However, as EFLI has more-or-less observed, in the case of the OP's situation, it looks as if all he has is an electric water heater with a hose connector as its output, and I'm not sure that necessarily qualifies as any sort of 'shower' does it? ... afterall, it doesn't really seem much differnt from, say, a tap on a basin? But in reality, I don't think it matters it is a dog shower. There is a human operating it.
One can certainly be 'tempted' in either direction, but only by making assumnotions about the 'intent'; of the regs.I would be tempted to treat it as a bathroom situation I think.

I cannot see the bigger picture of the layout. If it really were essentially a dog-sized equivalent of a human shower (like my neighbour has),I would be inclined to agree. However, as EFLI has more-or-less observed, in the case of the OP's situation, it looks as if all he has is an electric water heater with a hose connector as its output, and I'm not sure that necessarily qualifies as any sort of 'shower' does it? ... afterall, it doesn't really seem much differnt from, say, a tap on a basin
