Building sufficient jails to house them would take far more than 5 years

A political party would need tax rises on its manifesto to fund it, but if elected would see no reduction in people arriving by small boat….and so it’s not a policy that is a political win.

In any case illegal immigration isn’t the cause of the major issues in this country, so even if it was stopped it wouldn’t actually make peoples lives better.
