Let's say someone commits a truly heinous crime and they get sentenced to 20 years.

Someone comments about the sentence saying 'that'll show 'em!!!'

This doesn't mean the poster thinks it's a robust sentence. Neither does it mean the poster thinks the sentence is 'nothing to worry about' tbh not even sure what you mean by that, not sure you do either.
