Latest immigration figures

If we strip out the special schemes for places like Afghanistan, Ukraine and Hong Kong, what has been the underlying net migration these past four or five years. Is it higher than the 400,000 we had before Brexit.

I would say so because in 2022 and 2023 there were around 500,000 people coming here via sponsored study visas

I've posted this before but it's good enough for a second viewing....it has Notch and co written all over it. :-)

Well starmer had announced some pretty stringent policies so as to clamp down on immigration

Good for him if it works ( which I doubt)

He also used the word intergration ;)

Damage to communities

And this from a Labour PM

Had it been a Tory plenty in here would have been all over it like flies around dog ***t citing human rights
Right wing
Total disgrace
Racist
Bla bla

Yes exactly :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
farage is again shaping UK politics

Starmer

“ we are becoming a nation of strangers “

Yes Kier you just worked that out
Mind you he does not come across as the sharpest tool in the box ?? Took a court case from 3 old duffers to explain to him the difference between a man and a woman

Yes exactly

Jeez us wept :ROFLMAO:

Politicians and political parties are always x years behind what the masses are already aware of.

And I'm getting fed up with them stating the bleedin' obvious as if they're bestowing some great words of wisdom on us plebs.

e.g. (imagine the lowered faux sincere tone, serious face, pointing with thumb) Immigration is a serious issue. It needs addressed. Following a review we can announce ...

Followed by yet more policies that will prove largely ineffective. Fast forward a decade, things will be no better, actually they'll likely be worse.

The longer you're on this planet, the more you realise the powers that be love to talk at us, pretending to listen, meanwhile what they actually deliver ends up being sh1te.

Do something about it or just accept it. No point moaning about it.

thank you, yes I believe thats what ive heard

the Tories tried it with the nationality and borders bill in 2022 (Priti Patel)

push backs are effectively illegal (despite Motorbiking repeatedly turning himself inside trying to claim otherwise

as for taking them back to France, that cant be done without the agreement of France

It frustrates me that Reform as selling falsehood promises to their supporters. Reform have no solutions, I would say Labour are getting on with doing what is actually possible
Article 25 the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea allows states to take "necessary steps" to prevent passage that is not innocent.
here it is again. https://www.un.org/depts/los/convention_agreements/texts/unclos/unclos_e.pdf
it is illegal

you were proven wrong

instead of doubling down on it you need to admit it
I provided plenty of references... You none... as usual.

For something to be illegal, there is usually a law to say so. I wonder why you cannot find it. Is it because it doesn't exist?

Seems Labour are so worried about reform, they are adopting plans they previously moaned about.

The problem is that migrant workers are good for the economy (in the short term) …..and the economy is probably the top measure used by the public when it comes to approval rating.

Both Labour and Tories have been telling us for years how they are tough on immigration whilst actually wanting high migration.
