Hi,
I have just started a project to cap over existing on my property.
I've ordered capping fascia and normal soffit so far.
I've begun doing some learning on the garage thats attached and accessible so I've done a gable side of my garage and now doing the back of the garage but it appears the non gable section of current fascia is grooved and they originally have run Ply soffit through the groove and attached to the brick wall.

At the moment I've got U Trim in line with the bottom of the fascia so 20mm below, this seemed ok but im concerned about how long it will last with the weight of a normal soffit.
Looking at the tongue groove approach and this being easier to work at height as well I've ordered hollow Soffit for this but is there any better/cheaper/easier option to complete the eventual over four sides of my house getting this one or is a trim the only option attached to the wall below joist line?
