War Crimes...

This story was a bit of a shocker.

The SAS team should have been awarded medals.

In 1987 the SAS killed 3 IRA terrorists on the street who were on their way to plant bombs in Gibraltar. There was a public out cry there too. I mean who in the right mind could complain over these brave men doing a job to protect the innocent and then the innocent turn on them in this way. Any terrorist who gets killed by either an ambush or by a fire fight is not an innocent person. As quoted, they go in with their eyes open.

The government do not employ psychopathic murderers.
No-one suggested they did.
The nature of the job along with the training and the stress of the situation can make some turn out that way. It is more of a mental health issue than anything.
You don't have to be mad to work here. but it helps if you are.

Put a gun in some people's hands, train them to kill or be killed, and what do you expect?

The romanticism of being a soldier is exactly that - romantic fantasy.

Lok at the number of documented and undocumented war crimes committed in the Vietnam war.
Look at the documented and undocumented crimes committed in the 1st and 2nd Boer wars.
Look at the documented and undocumented crimes committed in the domination of Africans in South Africa, West Africa, Kenya, Sudan, Nigeria, etc.
Look at the documented and undocumented crimes committed in Iraq.

But you claim everything was civilised and above board in Afghanistan?
You're kidding yourself, or you're trying to kid us.

Or so we were told.
Just like the SF in Afghanistan plant weapons on dead bodies to justify the killing of innocent civilians.

You wasn't there, you never have been. You cannot say what you are saying with any confidence whatsoever. You need to differentiate between crime and what is a normal job for a soldier. You cannot put a gun in someones hands and send them in to kill people but then accuse them of doing so and labeling it as a crime that they have commited.

Who were the innocent civillians?
Read the reports.
Giving their accounts publicly for the first time, the veterans described seeing members of the SAS murder unarmed people in their sleep and execute handcuffed detainees, including children.
He said Lord Cameron could have been left in no doubt that there were allegations of civilians, including children, being killed during operations carried out by UK Special Forces.

You make silly assumptions. You cannot possibly have any knowledge of my experience.
Well I can make a judgement based upon what you say. I do not know your knowledge or your experience but I am confident that you have no military background and will ask you outright now. Have you?

You're still using 'the Robbie Savage' paradigm.*

After Robbie Savage justified his weak argument with a caller on the 606-show on R5Live that he was a professional footballer and the caller was not.

I make no claim to any qualifications or experience.
You'll have to judge me on what you see and what I write.

Was Hitler any higher moral or more qualified than Schindler in Germany during WW2?

Well that is what I am doing, as I say I am confident in my judgement based on what you say and what you have said. So lets get the silliness out of the way now and move forward with your argument which is all that it is.

Name any military person, and I'll present you with another non-military name that has been proven to be far higher morals and higher intelligence than the military personnel that you offer.

For example Florence Nightingale was not a soldier, she was a social reformer. What you'd call a lefty liberal.

OK I see the way this is now going, you have exhausted your debate on this now. Ta Ra
