I can't understand why the women and children don't just leave the gaza strip and claim asylum in, Egypt.
Also, what came of those protests by the Palestinians against Hamas a few week's ago?

Why is the crossing shut?
Is being shot by Hamas worse than being used as a human shield by them?
I suppose that as a shield they have a chance of surviving, but being murdered....
Not so much.
Hardly surprising then that a good number of Palestinians wish that Hamas were no more, and Israel ran their affairs.

The Arab world wants nothing to do with them, who do you think shut down the crossing point? Have you not noticed that any Arab state has not lifted a finger in order to help them?
Egypt doesn't want them. Plus the Palestinians know that Israel would never allow them to return to Gaza.
Are Egypt acting illegally by not allowing them to escape from Gaza. Don't know the answer to that one.
