It would be only fractionally more sensible to use an SA80 in a crowded street than a SLR. If you'd actually been taught any shooting by the police or army you'd know about having to check the background and knowledge of when not to shoot.

For those like Walter who haven't: it is far far harder than the movies. People don't fire just once and in practice most rounds will miss and even the ones that hit can and will go though the target and innocent bystanders.

Fantasies about shooting terrorists or being a 'good guy with a gun' have little connection to reality.

I honestly don't know. The racists, knuckle draggers and conspiracy theorists have put us in a very difficult position. Hopefully, the police and CPS will find a way around it which suits everybody whilst keeping the country safe, and without jeopardising the investigation and any subsequent court proceedings.

Is this what they call two tier public information? It should be all or nothing. Tell the public the ethnicity and nationality of EVERY mass attacker or say nothing every time. Don't just 'out' the white man because when they say nothing, you can’t really fault the public for the conclusion they will inevitably come to.
