Is it possible to spur off a two way light switch for a new downlight? - I can't run a cable from the current downlights so can I spur off one of the existing switches?

If this is possible, how to I wire this switch?

Please see the switch and diagram. Thank you!

Thank you. What are my options for adding a downlight at the bottom of the stairs? Chase a cable from the existing light all the way down?

Might be hard to reach when it needs recharging but it might be the best option, thank you.

Do away with two-way switching and that leaves you with a spare cable, could use wireless two-way of one sort or another. But as to if worth it is another question, parts alone will be over £50.

If you have access above where you want your new light, then you might be able to add a light fed from one of the existing ground floor lights. You could then either add a drop down to a new switch, or add a remote control switch, of the Quintetic (spelling) type - Eric knows more on these.

Running a cable shown orange will be the solution, what access do you have to any of that route

Looks like flats - that door has a lock on it.
Is there a neutral at the TOP 2 way switch?
If so, you could replace the switches for time-lag switches, and use the spare wire as a neutral.
