The problem is the numbers claiming benefits, esp disability is going up significantly and this bill is meant to help slow the increase in the cost.


I think the big concern is the tightening of the PIP criteria meaning some people will lose vital benefits.

Basically I'm getting half of what I do, just because I'm a bit immobile, The othe half is all about immobility, though. So it's covered twice.
They also hand out to people who have anxiety/mental problems. Hard to quantify their need.

It's a bit nuanced. I was a bit wrong before _ I could get SOME of the benefit i get - but I probably wouldn't have bothered to apply.
There are 4 scenarios and tests statements with each. If you have SOME difficulty with each, tick, you get HALF of what I get. (the rest is separate).
NOW, you'd have to be severely disabled for ONE of the four scenarios such that you have to have someone's help. That's a much higher bar.
