I'm trying to make sense of the wiring of the switch (after my niece bought a house 2 days later one of the switches stopped moving properly and tripped the fuse).
An electric lamp switch with two buttons - one button broke. I'm pretty sure it's not 2-way, but two separate bulbs, one for one switch.
Disconnected, but it's old UK wiring and 3 red cables were connected on one side to:
red: A - 1 way - L2
red: A - 2 way - L3
red: B - com - L1

And on the other side (or at the bottom):
4th red cable to A - COM - L1
and yellow-green to B - 2way - L3
L1 and L3 on this side were also connected with a short red cable.

One switch on this unit controlled the light above in this small hallway, and if I remember correctly, the other one (which failed), I did not find out what it was doing.
Besides this 2-gang switch is another switch connected to the light outside, but after disconnecting the cables in the 2-gang switch, it's not working. Also, at about the same time ceiling lamp in the living room stopped working. In the living room, there are 2 red cables, so live and switch-live, as I understand, are connected and green-yellow to the box, so GE over there is earth. The multimeter shows only maybe some phantom voltage of about 25V - 30V in the living room.

I haven't managed to test these cables yet with a multimeter (not even sure how to, as green-yellow seems not to be earth, or could it be?).

What is the green and yellow cable connected to the other end? It shouldn't be used as a live conductor.

L1 and L3 on this side were also connected with a short red cable. (so red and g&y were bridged with a short red)

I've put some red and green lines on the photo exactly as cables were connected (G&Y cable marked as greenish).
