Hi All

Dealing with aftermath of bathroom leak above our kitchen. Leak sorted so waiting for everything to dry out etc.

Water tracked through light fitting. Aside from that we got away with just a cracks in ceiling and some staining, no bowing or collapse of plasterboard.

Just bought basic batten holder lamp to replace the light for the time being. However, this fitting is smaller than the knackered one and there isn’t enough room to secure screws. Combination of nothing or v thin section of board.

I’ve seen the plaster repair kits but wasn’t sure how to proceed when I need to retain a hole for the cables.

Any advice appreciated as usual.

Thanks

(Realise I can take light back to B&Q and get a bigger one)
