Hi, I want to replace a hanging lamp in the downstairs toilet with a light- weight ceiling lamp which is flush fitting (from Homebase). The existing cable rose is sitting against the ceiling.

A. Do I need to make a hole in the ceiling to push/seat in the existing rose
B. Does it need a housing box to sit in?
C. Above the room is a bath room. Should I take any precautions against possible water leaks?

Thanks in advance. Tony

if it's a downlighter you have bought you would need a small 5A 5 post junction box to replace the old pendent.
The connections can be termanated corretly in a junction box which wll fit through the hole which was cut out for the new light fitting to fit into..

don't worry about the bath, unless it leaks!

Thanks. The lamp has a junction box in its base (its a tier flush light 05) so I can connect the cables feeding through a hole in the base of the unit.

Assume that I just need to fix the existing rose into the ceiling by making a larger hole so it no longer protrudes?
rgds Tony
