It's the idiots who remove their seat belts and come flying the otherway into my windscreen that I worry about.
Some of them could be quite big boned.

Seen that on tiktok a few days ago. Some guy fell from a lift on the back of a van. Bam, straight through the windscreen on the car below.
Didn't spill one drop of his pot noodle either.

This feature is now mandatory on all new cars sold in the EU, I believe.
It's bloody dangerous in my opinion as it cannot be permanently turned off in the settings.
It gets really annoying having to disabled it everytime the engine is started, and quite often you 'need' to do it while driving because you forgot to before setting off, which means fiddling about taking your eyes off the road.
Yes, i know.

A lot of the safety features on new cars can be annoying, it puts me off buying one. The bongs when you're over the speed limit, really annoying. Some of the lane departure stuff can be dangerous. Fortunately they're getting better at letting you switch them off.

One of the good things about this car is that you can silence them all with a 3 second press on the mute button on the steering wheel. You still get a little speed symbol flashing up on the screen though. On my son’s focus, he has to access the menu on the screen first and switch them off that way. Pain in the A he said.

Looking on paper at the Sportage, the sister car to the Tucson, but the PHEV version.

Also looking at the Renault Austral, which seems to get a good reception, and, as we have an MG EV, I'm also considering the HS Hybrid+.

We go in for the second year service tomorrow, so I'll jump in one and have a look. The PHEV version was What Car's plug in hybrid of the year 2025.

I did consider the PHEV Tucson but I didn’t think the extra £2.5k plus £1k for a charge point would be worth it for us. The PHEV could have been charged with a granny lead but I knew after the initial novelty, I’d end up not bothering plus there’s no room for a spare wheel on the PHEV. I just plumped for the hybrid.

I live 20 miles away from a new outlet village.
Decided to go and have a look. It's just the first phase open and not that big with about 50 shops.
Nothing for me other than pret selling filtered coffee for 99p. Bingo as I had 2.
Got caught in the sudden downpour at 3pm so imo build a roof or even better shop online.
I was thinking this could be residential flats in my lifetime and I was very interested in the building materials used, and how it would look if converted.

PHEV would only take a couple of hours with a proper charger anyway. You’ll only get about 40 miles from it in EV mode though if you’re lucky.

Depends on the battery size. According to my MG dealer, the new MG HS PHEV charges in 4.5 hours using a charger like mine. But I believe that car has one the biggest (if not the biggest batteries) of any hybrid, so takes longer to charge than most. The battery is 24.7kWh and it has an official range of 75 miles in EV mode.

But.....because of the on-board systems, unlike a BEV, the car will not charge any quicker on a faster charger.

IDK about the Sportage PHEV. Plus the MY 2026 PHEV is not out yet.

Nothing yet. We have three Coops nearby who deliver with Deliveroo. I am trying to buy some sugar ring donuts, two multipacks of Snickers and two multipacks of Twix. But each Coop is missing one of the items. It is a frustrating process, because you only find out they are unavailable once you have placed the order and waited about five minutes for them to go and check the stock.
