Looking to fill in some cracks/gaps on my wooden fence panels for privacy. Mainly around knots and gaps in the slats where they have warped due to weather.

I was thinking a tub of wood filler from Screwfix, but this is probably bit really for outdoors applications.

Any suggestions how to tackle it?

Thin slats on feather edged or interwoven fencing will still warp even even eith filler applied (assuming there is a neat snd practical way of applying it). The forces in the wood are stronger than the filler. Either live with it or hide with plants, man made or real. Or overboard it with new slats.

Ok, what about the knots in the slats? They haven't fall men out leaving homes, but have shrunk a bit leaving a crack/gap around them that you can look through.

Maybe something like PVA glue which is a bit more rubbery could plug those?

If knot holes in the fence are that large maybe look at covering over with a spare piece of wood rather than filler.

Filler will shrink. You need to look at covering them with new slats.

You could buy some if available or buy one panel and take it apart and utilise the slats from that.

They're not holes per se, just maybe like a 2mm gap around them where they have changed size over the seasons.

Almost need a decorators caulk for outdoors!

would anyone notice such a tiny gap and why would they look through it - how high is the fence?

why such a high level of security / privacy ?

No Nonsense Exterior Decorators Caulk White 310ml (9735H)
OR maybe CT1

not sure it will help, for all the reasons given above regarding filler

If you like sunbathing in the buff, remember... there's no such thing as a healthy tan.

Or if your neighbour is a peeping tom, tell the police.

Probably cut a diamond from a treated slat and glue to the hole using sealant glue or what not. But what will your neighbour see through a hole that the can’t see from the bedroom window?
