as wayners says - use a chemical resign and bolts - have now done this on 3 Gates , 1 in the current house - actually used a 4x4" post onto a breeze block wall - the gate rarely gets used

and just used a fostner Bit to sink the nuts into the post - looked fine

i see screwfix have STUDS 130mm - so depending on how you are mounting the 4x2 100x50 post - they may do if only using the 50mm side - but if fixing the 4" - i would want more than 30mmish in the wall personally - BUT just a DIYer
