What have you bought today?

Bought some cutters and foil for my shaver, just shy of £60, but what a difference.
Not cheap those cutters, are they? You do notice the difference but they soon start to degrade. Mine were supposed to last 18 months - I didn’t use the shaver every day and it came with a special charger/cleaner thing plus the special cleaning fluid but I gave up and just use a Mach 3 wet razor now, every other day. I bought a pack of 4 Mach 3 Turbo blades today - £11.50 and they’ll probably last me 6 months.

Just ordered a Blackvue dash cam in preparation for the new car arrival. Going to set it all up and test it out before fitting it though.

crazily expensive - interested to see some footage when you have it up and runnimg, esp on very dull days and twilight

I like the fact it’s a well known make of camera, it’s got no screen on it plus, it’s made in South Korea so it’s in harmony with the rest of the car! :ROFLMAO:

To counter that, I’ve just ordered a Stoplock pro steering wheel lock. £41. I don’t think these are very nickable motors anyway and I was toying with getting a Disklok but my mate has one of them and it’s a right PITA taking it off and putting it on plus, unless you put it in the boot, it’s sliding about in the passenger footwell. It’s a heavy old lump too - I think Mrs Mottie might struggle with it. I just want some sort of visible deterrent. Just got to order a spare wheel kit for the car and I’m all ready!

Good grief, that's a lot of countermeasures! I would have to move..

Thursday, unlocked, and made use of the front door, which we don't usually use at all. I then promptly forgot to lock it, until it was noticed that it was unlocked this morning. We were both of us out the entire day Friday, and a few times since. Nothing ever touched. My car has been parked for the past 15 years, unlocked, with the key in the ignition - never touched.

My mate lives in East London, nowhere near me, but where I used to live! Funny thing was, my mates son's friend is a copper. He told my mates son that cars were being nicked in his area and advised him to get a disklok. He did that, started using it and two nights later the car was nicked!

20 years ago, for a short while, I would sometimes work and stay the week in London. The usual advice, was to remove your hubcaps, or they would be certain to be nicked in London. True enough, there were loads of cars, to be spotted in London, missing their hubcaps.

It's the d4fe engine in the mild hybrids, that would possibly be the Tucson, matey over the road has a 3 year old i30 mild hybrid, they caught his just in time. Kia and Hyundai were changing hundreds of engines. Not sure if they've modified anything yet. Most modern cars are crap. I am sorely tempted to get a full electric car next, ice vehicles have too many things to go wrong compared with electric, unless you get a car from late 1990s to maybe 2010/15.

That’s a diesel engine isn’t it? I think they had problems with oil consumption on petrol engines pre 2015 and it’s a different engine now. Mine will be a 1.6 T-GDi with a self charging hybrid. 5 years guarantee though so any problems will be their problem. It’s an ultimate so absolutely loaded with tech to go wrong!
