Turbos on 1 litre engines

I get the idea behind smaller IC engines but Governments of all persuasions are paying lip service to climate change/pollution. Why do they still allow all the plumes of smoke and flames as footballers, rugby teams run out, score a goal/try. Firework displays for special events/new year and thousands of other situations all contribute to climate change and pollution yet they want to ban diesel cars. Perhaps they should start to cut down on industry, air travel, dirty buses and trucks.

It's worth putting some numbers on it, I think.

Then breaking down the "transport" slice of the pie:

They all sing from the same hym sheet, like some on here - that climate change is due to what man has done to the eaths atmosphere - simply because there is big money to had, and no one dare question it. The earths climate, is doing exactly what the climate has always done naturally - it is changing.

The only slight difference, is that it is changing FASTER than at virtually any other time in the earth's history. It has changed this fast a couple of times before, but it didn't end well for whatever life was on earth at the time....

...still... nothing to worry about...

So what do you personally think you can do about, even if everyone were to join you, and all emissions were stopped tomorrow - the answer is absolutely nothing at all. It would not make a jot of difference.

Why? We got ourselves into this mess, we can get ourselves out of it! Admittedly, it would help if everyone did their bit, but we have too many selfish, short-sighted people at present...

Or the alternative view, that the 'many selfish, short-sighted people' believe the more likely interpretation, that there is lots of dosh being earned, due to the climate panic, that it has absolutely nothing to do with what man has done, and there really is nowt we can do to change it. The earth's climate, naturally changes, all the time - that's what it has always done, that is what it will always do, just learn to accept it.

Yeah... so you keep saying:rolleyes:. If I could find even 10% of scientists who agreed with you, I might even give it a second thought. If I could find 25%, I might even take you seriously. As it is, I give you about as much credence as flat earthers and anti-vaxxers.

Enjoy your floods and wildfires...

All of those habitats changed or laid waste.
All of those species pushed to extinction.

The cure for cancer, dementia, whatever, might be among the things we just toss aside.
That's pragmatism, before we even start on the immortality of trashing the planet.

As I've told my kids, every door you close now, makes the future a little more difficult.

Add to that, make a chunk of the planet uninhabitable, then be both surprised and indignant when its peoples rock up on your border.........

You won't win against the 'believers', H. Told to buy battery driveway appliances - they're unquestioningly head of the queue. Climate change - yep that'll be hook line and sinker "how much of my money do you want chancellor?" for them. Some of them still even swallow propaganda like diversity being for their enrichment. :ROFLMAO:

Totally oblivious to the fact that they're being manipulated by people infinitely cleverer than them behind the scenes with highly suspect motives.

Others just like to compete to be the best at following rules or what everyone else is doing. Emperor's new clothes.

Myself and Avocet aren't "believers"; we drive the things.
"Converts" might be a better term.

What term would describe someone who prattles on about something they have no experience of and, what's worse, what they do come out with is mainly bullshoite? ;)

They're being manipulated by Big Oil propagandists and they don't even realise it! You only have to look at some of the half-baked shi'ite they come out with, and the minute you challenge them to actually put some real numbers on their claims, you won't see the for dust! (Or maybe I should say "smoke")!:ROFLMAO:

It's a bit like playing whack-a-mole. They disappear back down their holes, only to pop up out of another one with some different BS...
