Tank lid

Good morning. The cold water tank in my loft has no lid on. I have looked on line but there seem to be none up for grab. I was thinking of cutting a sheet of ply wood to size and line it with kitchen foil. Would that work, do you think. Many thanks for your time.
 
Ply will absorb moisture and collapse over time, better to use something waterproof
 
Not if you use marine ply and, as the OP said, cover it with foil
 
Thanks for the link. I had already searched on Google but unfortunately I can’t find the right size. I was thinking of buying two 3 mm cut to size acrylic clear sheets but I’ll have to spend over. £30 for two pieces of plastic that’s why I wanted to use two pieces of plywood and line them with kitchen foil which probably will be cheaper?
