What van to buy.

Thats right. My mate who runs the Robin Reliant west Essex club always hatched a deal.

A Reliant Rebel was my first car!

Way more expensive than the three-legged ones on tyres, but definitely worth it, I reckoned...

A mate at School was a fantastic player. He was on Tottenhams books.

While on holiday in Crete he was in a car accident and lost his left leg.

That really fùcked him up as he was left footed. He was never the same player after that.

All turned out ok. He signed for West Ham the following season.

I don't need a van any more, but can't get used to the idea of losing the versatility that a 3 seat smallish van offers. Will eventually get an older classic car, but keep the van for daily use.

I have always had a van, never owned a car (although that is a little ingenuous as my wife has always had nice cars which i get to drive sometimes), And now being retired I suppose I don't really need a van, but I just feel comfortable in a van, being in a van is very much me, and they are far more practicable, get my bike in it, can sleep in it, go and get logs in it, and its useful for my cabinet making.

And at the moment my old van is on its last legs, doubt it will get through its MOT this xmas.

So do I replace it with another van - seems daft buying a van when retired but that is probably what I will do

Almost the same as me apart from the logs and cabinet making. Have slept in it many times and used it for camping. I have an awning - the side nearest/touching van is joined using bolt holes holes in the gutter provided for a roof rack. Bike is parked behind.

Hope to get a few more years yet - though I may eventually need new sills. They're a weak point on these vans.

All I can say is that after 2 years and 2 months of EV ownership, they have far fewer moving parts to go wrong.
