2025 officially hottest year ever.

My first-born was telling me that the hottest temperature he's experienced so far this year was 41 degrees C (he's living in Aus at the moment).

And that was "miserable, unbroken, grey cloud. All day".

I know what you mean though: summers seem to be more "meh" in recent years, but the temperature is not directly reliant on blue skies.

If you doubt we've had 4 heatwaves, I invite you to try and sleep in the upstairs bedroom of a dormer bungalow.
It's been bloody hot, a number of times this year.

It's the frog in hot water scenario, nobody notices the gradual increase, then bam, the earth explodes...
