Just noticed this - I'm going to get on to the dealership tomorrow to take it up with them. Bearing in mind I only picked up the new car yesterday and it had 46 miles on the clock, look at the condition of the rear brake discs. Pitted to fùck! Fronts are fine. I know some cars can get rusty discs after just washing them (our A3 was like that) but they clean off after a few hundred yards. I’ve done about 30 miles in this and they are looking terrible. Must have been sitting about for a while. I’m not having that!

Are they really "pitted" though, in that are there actually indentations, or is it just patination on the surface?

Whilst it doesn't look great, it probably is quite normal for a new delivery car, given they have to be on a boat for some weeks. In a few months, they would look like this anyway.

Not good - they have surface rust already which will just be polished by braking, rather than being removed.
Replacement needed!
John :)

Just found out that it’s a common problem with hybrids in so far as that you hardly have to touch the brake to slow down. In regen mode 3 on this car you can practically come to a stop by taking your foot off the throttle! Reading up, there’s a 'Disc cleaning' programme on the car! Just been out and tried it and it has cleaned them a bit. Can’t see too well at the moment but I’m going to notify the dealership to tomorrow that I’m not happy and if they don’t clean up after a week or so, they'll have to sort me out a new set of discs and pads.

A disc cleaning programme is a completely new one on me! Time I packed it in.
Anyhoo, we all know that the rear discs don’t do a great deal compared to the front so I’d be surprised if they cleaned up perfectly.
Good luck with your hybrid, I’m well pleased with my Yaris Cross at 60.1 mpg - makes me feel quite righteous especially in a traffic jam!
No way will I go back to manual transmission either.

More aggro. Keyless entry and auto tailgate opening packed up. Had to unlock it with the remote. Got in, had the message 'key not found' and was instructed to use the emergency procedure to start it which was to push the start button using the fob. Tried that, no luck with both fobs. Phoned up Hyundai roadside assistance who said they'd be there within the hour. Half hour later I went out to remove the steering wheel lock and as I passed the tailgate it started the beeping that was telling me if I stayed there, it would open automatically. I also opened it keylessly and blow me if it didn’t start up when I got in and pressed the button! Took it for a drive and everything was ok. Mrs Mottie read through the book and apparently it can do this (fail to recognise the fobs) while it is updating the firmware automatically ‘over the air' (OTA update). I’m assuming it was that, at least I’m hoping it was that as if that happened while I was out, I'd be seriously stranded. Bloody cars are getting more and more computer reliant these days.

Replace the fob battery with a good one if it does it again.
Energizer or Duracell.
They lasted a couple of years without a single failure on my A6.

And so it begins!

I said to my wife "hasn't your brother gone for the pizza yet?" "No" she said, "he's still sat in his fancy new car figuring out how to turn all the crap off before he can drive it"
I literally had to look online how to put the parking brake on. It really wasn't obvious sitting in the car!

Have a look through the papers that came with the car. There should be a single A4 sheet called a "Certificate of Conformity" in amongst them. It will have loads of data about your particular car on it and is a valuable document. Field 0.11 will give the date of manufacture of the vehicle, so you can see how long it has been sat in a field before you bought it.
