Angela rayner tax dodger again...

It can also happen when they give them all the facts

Do you really believe that AR understood the tax implications of her son's trust; an esoteric point of tax law, and then deliberately withheld that information from her tax adviser and conveyancer.

She is housing minister, has called out tax avoidance has called out second homes . So she should have sought out best advice possible then got it double checked before doing anything and who takes money from their disabled kid to buy a home mist people give their kids money

It does raise the question about if she is capable of high office, given this isn’t the first time and she is such a fog horn on other people’s tax mistakes. You’d have thought she would have taken every possible step to get it right.

I wonder if her son got a good deal out of the deal

I don't understand that point. How can you be guilty of tax evasion if you give your adviser all the facts and follow their advice.

as a senior politician as well as "Housing Minister" I hope she not only understood the tax situation very well, she probably even new what "esoteric" meant

If she did not understand fully what she was doing then she should not be in the job
and if she did understand then she should not be in the job

We need politicians that do not fall so easily into gaping elephant traps

one way or another she is an idiot, and it is because of leaders like her that this country is in such an utter mess.

Or isn't it just more likely that she was given bad advice on a complex technical matter by a professional who was paid for his expertise.

Because they then fill everything in and you sign it to say it's correct. If what they have put despite you giving them all facts and figures has mistakes it is you they come after not them ...you then have to pay penalties to taxman ...and then it is down to you to go after accountant/advisor...taxman is not interested in them

Thanks, that's very clear. I hadn't thought of that angle.

The penalties are whatever they think you have under paid or believe it or not even paid the correct amount but in the wrong way they then fine you 100 quid a month and can go back years with that 100 quid a month if they find accountant has made the same mistake for years

You sign the tax return and pay it and when HRMC decides that it's wrong it's not the accountant they go after it you . Yet again you are struggling with deliberate and ignorance . At least Ange now realises she is liable and no one else
So not tax evasion.

Thank you for admitting you are wrong

Thank you for admitting it's not tax evasion

We got there eventually
