Unless my memory fails me, in previous years one would have expected to see vast numbers of Union Flags (and a small minority of other ones) being waved by the audience.

I don't know about the ratios, but last year, and the year before, there were masses of EU flags being waved.

And every year, the usual suspects (e.g. GB News, The Express, The Daily Mail) get in a froth about it, and say EU flag wavers are traitors, and how they should be thrown out of the venue, and blame the BBC for people who are not part of the BBC offering EU flags to concert-goers.

Who are, of course, free to take them or not.

But that's not a freedom which right-wing media organisations want people to have - people are only allowed to have freedoms of which they approve.

So if there is such a great support for your pet cause - where are all the hamas flags in the crowd like the one in your avatar - or were they all taken off people as they went it. - That or the rich leftie champagne socialists who attend this show dont care.

Is there a particular reason why you cannot tell the difference between the flag of the state of Palestine and the flag of Hamas, or is it that you refuse to see the difference, because truth is not something you are concerned with?

They have become one and the same because it is illegal to show-fly the flag of Hamas, you are just using the Palestinian flag the exact same way as you accuse the England flag wavers of doing.
Like I said with the EU flag wavers in the proms they all have a personal angle on it -- so what is yours with Palestine.

I doubt that any of that is a significant part of the explanation for all the EU flags.

I have been a big fan of the proms for years - the arrival of the EU flags arrived on mass in 2016 after 52% of the passengers on the titanic voted for that iceberg (eh)?

I think it has just been traditional ever since - in the same way I am very happy to see the Saltire fly alongside the Union Jack, I would be more than happy to fly both of them along side the EU flag, (well, may be a small eu flag fluttering somewhere beneath)

(and before the pedantic s arrive - it is acceptable to call it that when not on a bow of his majesty’s warships) and I think it sounds better.

I hear it every time there is a phone in debate on the radio and they are complaining about the price of tomatoes and anything else you can think of and brexit is a disaster and whatever and then it comes out ----- I had a villa in spain ---my wife is french- blah blah that is all they care about - like noseall on here all he is upset about is he can not go skiing 20 times a year.
Those that voted leave did so because they thought it was best for the country -- including notch everyone else voted remain for totally selfish reasons.

No I dont and I dont think it should be happening anywhere but why do you pick just that one to support - there are loads of others you could support - dont you care about all the others or is it that you have a particular connection to this one.
