So because I display a flag which is of a country recognised by hundreds of others, which is flown by the UN, and on embassies across Europe, which is not the flag of a proscribed organisation, and which is not illegal to fly or display in the UK that means I hate the UK.

Yes, it is. And I'm being generous in assuming that you took a screenshot because you don't have the skills needed to create nested quotes.

So his post that I had screen shot sat there for 15 mins and then he edited it and yet there is no "last edited" - curious that somehow a poster can edit a post without the "last edited" notice being generated - anyone care to explain that.

It is very curious, and not something I've seen happen before.

I can think of 3 possible explanations:

1) Site malfunction
2) JohnD has access to post editing tools which others don't
3) Your accusation is false

Since you are the one directly affected, you should ask the Mods if they can tell you what happened, or we are all going to have to weigh the odds of (1) vs (2) vs (3) on the basis of our own experiences.

When will you accept that hamas have regularly flown the same flag you dispute is used by terrorists? It's been visible so many times on news footage, unless of course you wish to invent more 'fake news' by accusing the news services of editing in the Palestinian flag in places it wasn't.

If the flag in your avatar is not a flag used by terrorists then the militants who started the current middle east war by invading Israel are not hamas.

My screenshot post directly after his post is hard evidence of his first post - his new edited post - as you can see has no "last edited" making it look like it was not edited and was like that all along - and yet I have the screen shot to prove it was different and has been edited.

How selective to you think we should be in choosing which knowledge to admit to?

When will you accept that no matter who may fly it, it is the flag of a country recognised by hundreds of others, it is flown by the UN, and it is flown on embassies across Europe, it is not the flag of a proscribed organisation, and it is not illegal to fly or display in the UK?

So do you really believe that if any flag is used by terrorists then everybody else has to stop using it, that nobody must use it unless they are expressing support for the terrorists?

No, it isn't. There are at least 2 others:

1) You had his original post open in another tab which had not been refreshed so had access to the unedited version

2) You doctored the screenshot. It's not difficult - look:

Note - not saying you did, just that it's another explanation.

But it would leave us with a "why?". In fact the whole thing throws up more why's than a Welsh road atlas.

Why would you doctor the image and lie about it?

Why would JohnD make a clandestine change?

Why would he have the ability to do that?

It's about the relative placement of an image in a post - hardly some significant change. Editing posts is fine - I do it if I spot an error. If it's trivial I'll just do it even if there have been subsequent posts. If it's substantive I'll just do it if there haven't been any, and hope no posts show up while I'm doing that. If it's substantive and there have been posts, I'll say what I've done.

I've been caught out myself when replying, and a post I've quoted has changed while I'm replying, but because it's before my post there's no "Last Edited" flag so it looks like I've falsified a quote, and I have to redo it, or even abandon it.

But the placement of an image?

You say he's done this before - do you mean this isn't the first time he's apparently edited a post using some ninja-powers?

Have you ever asked the mods about it?
