I’d never have cooked food delivered. I just couldn’t trust them not to have a little nibble at it. Did it come in one of those maggot boxes on the back of a bike?

We had Italian delivered for the first time. OMG!! Getting very lazy!! I had arancini and a traditional carbonara (no cream). All delicious.

I had chicken madras...im so full now lol.

Homemade sweet and sour chicken, and rice. Except, the chicken breast, was like chewing pencil rubber. Neither of us could eat the chicken. Have ever come across tough chicken before, don't know where from, it came out of the freezer.

Sounds awful, you need to try the new cheese strings that are taking the country by storm and a chicken and mushroom pot noodle.

Smoked haddock, green beans, and boiled baby potatoes. We went in Lidl earlier in the week, to buy the fresh smoked haddock, but we were not impressed with the apparent bits in the package. Tried again today, at Tesco, who had none, so again tried Lidl, a little better quality this time, but meagre quantity, and only two packs on the shelf. Packs were marked 230grams - I'm sure they use to be bigger?

Smoked haddock, green beans, and baby potatoes. The haddock from Tesco this time, as we hadn't been too impressed with the last lot, from Lidl. It cost quite a bit more, but it was well worth it, a much darker smoked colour, a lot more flavour, tasty, tender, and much larger portions, versus the scrappy pieces we had seen in Lidl earlier in the week.

Mix some gravy granules in for a roast dinner taste!! No need to thank me, you’ll love it

A proper blowout in Spain on our last night. After filling up with bread and oil I had black pudding and jam. It would have fed a family of four.

Then for mains I had black Angus rib with mash that was at least 50% cream.

It was so filling, I couldn’t finish it.

No room left even in my separate dessert stomach for anything else so I called it a day. Going to have to stay upright for a while now to give myself time to digest it all!
