it would be nice to think those in charge of our economy, government, our future would be astute enough not to get caught out on such trivial matters.You'd think in this day and age, the civil service / the party itself would have a checklist for MPs for a number of reasonably-foreseeable scenarios.
Being promoted to the cabinet being one.
While Reeves is on the hook for this one, variants on such faux pas have happened with ridiculous regularity across all parties.
I am not particularly bothered by her mistake, and a mistake I'm sure it was - but should the person running our economy be making these blunders.
