Basic concept and I won't go further: rights and wrongs are listed in the 10 commandments.
The bible is a story where you find rights and wrongs. The bible is not meant to tell anyone what's right and wrong.

Of course there will always be nutters taking one line from the bible and misinterpret that to justify their wrongdoing.
This becomes a lot more difficult with the 10 commandments: would be difficult to justify theft when you're told "do not steal".
