hi i have a hp comp that has the intel(r)core(tm)i5-6400t cpu 2020 ghz, i want to replace this how do i find what is compatable.
motherboard im unsure which it is how do i find this info will that be in bios.
i wish to upgrade to windows 11 from 10 as it is now unsuported but i am failing requirements due to processor, it has enough cores but lacks the speed for eleven or something like that it had said

Honestly I would just stick with Windows 10. Just be careful what you open on the PC, and make sure you have a backup of everything in case something goes wrong. The chance of you having some sort of security issue with Win 10 is low, whereas the chance of system problems with Win 11 is high.

Re finding your mobo, you should be able to find a spec for your computer model online, which will tell you.

There is a registry hack you can use to allow Windows 11 to install on a "lower-spec" processor. The following is from a google search

You can allow upgrades with unsupported TPM or CPU by editing the Windows Registry or by using a pre-made batch file to modify the registry for you. Both methods require you to create a DWORD value named AllowUpgradesWithUnsupportedTPMOrCPU and set its value to 1 in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup\MoSetup registry key.

This will allow installation of Windows 11 24H2, but rumour has it that this loophole is being closed with 25H2! Grrrr...

I’m guessing, and probably correct, that this is a PC, not a laptop.

If so, you might find something.

If it’s a laptop, then there is no chance doing what you propose.

The century where a few laptops had interchangeable CPU’s has faded away.
