Unfortunately, it doesn't work like that.

If it did, people would have just reported the posts they didn’t like, the people posting them, and the threads from that poster - and according to you, they would have been blocked from accessing their own threads.

No one, except you, has complained about this problem before, which implies that it's just untrue.

So, if you are really getting banned from your threads, then you must be doing something that contravene the rules.

They don't get paid afaik and it's easier to please a nutcase reporting 500 posts a day than trying to reason with him.
The mods know that people like me never report any post, ever.
So they don't get any work from me and that's why they bar me from threads and delete my posts.
Now, imagine if they told Himmy to do one and delete his posts and bar him from threads...
He would be creating dozens of new usernames and cause the forum to collapse.
In other words, I agree with the mods actions even though they might seem unfair.

Some people have said that the mods don’t give a definitive answer, let alone any answer, on why someone was banned from a thread, or have had their posts removed, or even their own thread.

And some people claim that they’ve got banned from threads because of a member reporting them.

But they don’t know if anyone really did, due to the nature of how this site is governed.

So how do they/you know which one is the case?

They can reason with him. Find out if it’s worthy of banning the user who is being reported. If not, then forget about it. The reporter would give up.

Someone makes an account; never has made one before, DIYnot permits it without any sort of external verification. Make another one, DIYnot requires email address verification, just to prove that you’re genuine and not a bot; make another one again, and then the account is awaited till approval by the moderators, before it’s able to create any posts.

It might have worked for the very first attempt but the plan instantly dies after a few attempts.

And if that doesn’t work then the site owner can IP ban someone.

In other words, I agree with the mods actions even though they might seem unfair.

You can say ANYTHING and I might not like it, but I would fight until my last day for your right to say it.

Himmy is an expert: he creates email addresses alongside new usernames.
Probably uses IP cover softwares as well to avoid detection.
Unfortunately for him, 99% of people here are way smarter than him and as soon as he appears with a new username he gets spotted, immediately.

He's a nutter with multiple accounts (3 or 4 at the moment) who causes mayhem in the forum.
Eventually most users put him on ignore and/or he gets banned.
Then he creates new usernames and starts his campaigns of stupidity again.
I started to think that he's locked in a mental health unit and they gave him a PC and forgot about his medications.
Current names are Mortquana, kraken and Himmy2 although I also suspect Notchy is him.
He's had at least 2 dozen other identities.

Rather than react, just let it wash over you. There's kn0bs in all walks of life. Social media seems to an easy, face-less arena for them. If you do have to react, keep it sweet and clean. Be the better person. You're not going to be barred from anything if you say nothing wrong.

There was no need for your reaction but you whined away about being trolled when it was just a speculative chat about something to pass the time. You did the same on a cooking thread you began when first you arrived, too, when in fact you've been one of the worst culprits for trolling this forum for years.
