Given the recent events concerning our supposed 'ally', that quite possibly doesn't ring true anymore...
In the past the EU didn't need the UK as much as the UK needed the EU, and that has been proven to be correct...
But the gap will now be narrowing!
That makes any sort of sensible decision making impossible.
And how do you undo an illegal annexation of a fellow NATO members territory?
UK can reasonably expect to be treated the same as any other applicant.
