UK is of course wanting to rejoin the trustworthy Single Market at the earliest opportunity.

Rejoining the EU will take longer.

If Trump dumps Nato, Europe will form a trustworthy replacement. I imagine Canada will be welcome, as will Ukraine.

The other issue is what if the US goes back to being rational again after Trump leaves office.

The brexit/deform loonies claim that to rejoin the EU, worse terms would apply...

Given the recent events concerning our supposed 'ally', that quite possibly doesn't ring true anymore...

In the past the EU didn't need the UK as much as the UK needed the EU, and that has been proven to be correct...

But the gap will now be narrowing!
