things Trump would rather talk about than Jeffrey Epstein

One theory has it that she was sacked so she could be pardoned by Trumpf for any crimes committed by her but not yet charged. And clear the way when she appears before Congress on 14 April. The implication being she can lie to protect Trumpf without criminal consequences.

In the (unlikely) event that Irann is sorted soon, Trumpf will need another distraction. Cuba?

I'd be interested to know how bad things really are in Cuba. I read last week that 1 million people have fled Cuba since 2021, 3/4 of them to the US, mainly Southern Florida. Cuba have rejected offers of aid from the US but I'm not seeing much background to any stories.

They are very bad, mainly because of sanctions. Trumpf has been very good to illegal asylum seekers that have come form Cuba, one of them is in his cabinet.

Marco Rubio, decent bloke by most accounts. But as I said, I'd like to see more background on what's led up to this. US sanctions, Russian and Venezuelan support. When did the sanctions begin?, people have been fleeing Cuba since the 60's, why?
I'll try and do some reading up on it when I get a bit of time, could be a fascinating backstory.

The answer to both questions is, when the Cubans threw out the American gangsters who had been running the country, and the government.

American gangsters, and their supporters, greatly resented that, and still do.

The Cuban Revolution was caused by widespread political corruption, economic inequality, U.S. influence, and social unrest under Fulgencio Batista’s dictatorship.

Political

The Cuban Revolution was largely fueled by Batista’s authoritarian rule, which began with his 1952 coup that overthrew a democratic government. Batista’s regime was marked by political repression, censorship, and the use of violence against opponents, creating widespread dissatisfaction among Cubans who had hoped for democratic governance. Corruption was pervasive, with government officials and elites enriching themselves while ordinary citizens faced limited opportunities, fostering resentment across social classes.

Marco is said to be the intelligent one, didn’t he stand against Trumpf? Maybe he has the long game in mind

He does seem pretty sane, also comes across well in briefings and press conferences. The lady journos at the press conferences often ask him to answer at least one question in Spanish, seems to get them all a flutter.
I think he was an early contender against Trump. Although I quite like Vance, I think Rubio would be a better bet for the top job.

The Whitehouse has been taken over by insane fanatics:

This is the sort of thing that really shows trump up. I had a similar speech done about me from some religious nutjobs comparing me to Jesus. its cringeworthy listening to it.
