But to be fair, at his time of life, he should be adopting a more cautious approach to investments. Broad spreads are the way to go for those without the knowledge.

Have you used up your ISA limit? I would suggest a stocks and shares ISA with a purchase of VWRP, might give you some sort of retirement plan. and perhaps a SIPP in the same if you don't already have one. Its not too late, even at your old age.

That reminds me, I must dig out those half a dozen bitcoins I bought years ago for a few quid….
