Snigger.

Precisely.

Individuals with total income over £35,000 will have a choice to:

  • opt-out of getting the payment (via DWP / SSS) – this means the customer would not receive the winter payment and would never be liable for the charge.
I would expect someone on a state and private pension who often tells of their 40% gains on their stocks and shares holding and who has a myriad of European investments to be above the £35k limit making their public gesture of refusing the WFP completely meaningless to those on this forum with more than one brain cell.
From memory, he has shared information confirming that he is significantly above this bracket.

And a brilliant investor too. Certainly showed you and Justin how to do it. Didn't you both write pages (mainly you) blubbing eviously about his success?

How do you know JD doesn't give to the needy?
Well if he can show us evidence of what he has 'given' to the government, he can show us evedence of what he's given to the needy, yes?

I am a pensioner. I am not poor. I don't mind losing that taxpayer handout.

There are people who need it more than me

So who does he give his 'handout' to? The government. Snigger indeed!

 You really are daft.

But to be fair, at his time of life, he should be adopting a more cautious approach to investments. Broad spreads are the way to go for those without the knowledge.

Have you used up your ISA limit? I would suggest a stocks and shares ISA with a purchase of VWRP, might give you some sort of retirement plan. and perhaps a SIPP in the same if you don't already have one. Its not too late, even at your old age.

You expect a poster, ANY poster to post up personal financial details on a public forum?

I'm guessing you'd prefer if he posted his NI number and income tax ref number as proof too?

Eh?

he just did, with an almost redacted screen shot.

The thread is still there boyo.

You and justin whinging and blubbing about his investment success. It was cringeworthy, especially seeing as you two think you are some kind of authority on it, lol.
feel free to quote and I will explain it to you.

Like what JohnD has just done? He's set a precedent now, if he won’t put up any more, you know he can’t. Why do you think he did that, and that alone? Pffft!

Right, I am formally refusing to take up the HMRC's Conditional Exemption Scheme. Sod it, I’ll suffer any tax payment. How’s that for a public and socially spirited gesture?

If you'd followed my suggested investments you'd have doubled your money in under 12 months. (Buy NVDA +89%) Your hero was scoffing about TSLA. +44% since then.

Even the advice I gave today would have outperformed 12 month bank interest

We are talking about JD and him outperforming the pair of you supposed financial wizards. Several pages whinging if I remember.
Are you talking about Cap'n Hindsight’s claim to outperform everyone? Did he put up any redacted evidence that time or just the usual (for him) cherry picked after the event investment performance charts?

That reminds me, I must dig out those half a dozen bitcoins I bought years ago for a few quid….
