The landing of our flight today hit the tarmac and had to take off and circle and have a 2nd attempt....

Since this experience I've got a newfound respect for life....

(I just hope the pilot was reaching for a sandwich)

Wise up (TM)

Always remember that (apart from a tiny number of incredibly rare instances) the pilot wants to live just as much as you.

You want to be thankful you didn't have to land elsewhere.

We had a similar experience a few years back whereby we were above the rooftops with Manchester runway almost beneath and he hit the gas. We ended up at Liverpool (I think). That's when the fun started. We had to wait ages to re-fuel, ( because of the high TOAL demand) and then even longer for the push back, as there was only one on duty. It was fun watching the captain pay for the fuel with his card though.

The hairiest landing I've ever encountered was in the middle of Storm Dennis. The captain was a cool as a cucumber and merely apologised for it getting 'a bit choppy'.

Hope it was not Ryan Ir as they would probably charge you for the extra fuel
